DTE is helping people who are having problems with bills (lights, gas, water, property tax, burial). DTE was awarded a $28 million grant to help folks and people are not applying. The deadline is September 30. They need people that need help to call 1-800-477-4747 (DTE) and ask about STATE EMERGENCY RELIEF PROGRAMS. All monies not used will be sent back to the government. If you or someone you has been affected impacted by COVID-19, Greg Anderson, City of Detroit Director of Administrative Services Community Health Corp. has funding under the CARES Act available until December 31, 2020. This is available for Detroit residents only. If we've experienced the following; lost jobs, hours cut, laid off, can't find a job, behind in rent, home mortgage, child care issues, housing issues, car needs repair, was sick with COVID-19, or had to stop and care for a family member with COVID-19, you can apply. The money is to be used to pay rent, utilities, transportation issues, provide beds, as long as the need is related to COVID-19.
